Just a 5 minute walk from Grand Central (370 Lexington Ave), Zucker’s Bagels & Smoked Fish is ideal for those who want to grab a quick meal (for those of you who don’t consider bagel sandwiches to be full meals, I promise you Zucker’s will change your opinion). I personally order an everything bagel with eggs (make sure you get there before 1 p.m. if you want eggs on your bagel), American cheese, and avocado, which comes to a total of about 7$. The whole process of ordering, having your food prepared, and paying takes only about 5 minutes, and there is limited seating available inside; Bryant Park is only a couple minutes away though, if you would prefer to enjoy your bagel outside. The menu here includes an immense variety of toppings for bagels, from specialty cream cheeses to flavored tofus to turkey and brie, but the menu is not limited to bagels and breakfast sandwiches alone. Zucker’s offers smoked fish, a vast array of cakes and pastries, soups, salads, eggs, typical lunch/dinner sandwiches, and deli salads (egg salad, tuna salad, etc.). There is also an extensive beverage menu containing specialty coffees and teas. Whether you just want to grab something to eat before or during a long day of working or studying, or you want to meet up with friends while filling up on carbs, this trip will not disappoint. While Zucker’s may seem to be the typical deli, the hand-rolled and kettle-boiled bagels should not be underestimated and the convenience of this fast-paced little restaurant’s location relative to Grand Central Terminal is just an added bonus.
